Manufactured circa 1938 in scarce .220 Swift chambering, only 1,982 produced between 1936 and 1939. Classic blued tapered round barrel with standard legends, dated "37" on the underside. Correct ramped Redfield No. 255 gold bead without sight hood. Rear sight dovetail filled in with a Williams blank. Barrel and receiver are drilled and tapped for an early scope mount, an additional set of filled-in holes for a side mounted scope also present on the left side of the receiver. Pre-war clover leaf tang. Safety is a full lever style replacement. Iconic diamond checkered walnut super grade style stock with ebony forend tip, dished sling swivel eyes, blued "-SUPER GRADE-" floor plate, hard rubber capped pistol grip, early European style cheekpiece, and checkered steel widows peak butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains the vast majority of what appears to be the original blue with some muzzle wear and scattered marks. Receiver likewise retains the vast majority of its old, reapplied finish with some high edge wear. Stock shows field use throughout with impressions, nicks, and some abrasions. Let side of the stock lightly shaved at the receiver to accommodate a scope mount. Good bright bore. Fine mechanics.
