Per included factory research, this rifle was received in the Winchester warehouse June 2, 1904 and shipped August 15 of that year as an extra light takedown rifle with 22" round barrel chambered in .45-70 smokeless, half length magazine, checkered pistol grip stocks, and rubber shotgun butt. Rifle remains in the configuration as shipped but appears expertly restored, possibly refinished by the factory although no R&R is listed. Rifle sports a blued nickel steel barrel with Lyman gold bead front sight and sporting rear. Half length magazine and blued takedown frame. Checkered walnut forend. Matching fiddle back figured checkered pistol grip buttstock with hard rubber WRACO grip cap and reproduction red Winchester butt pad. Stock channel numbered "327", the matching "327 XX" assembly number and wood grade present on the lower tang. CONDITION: Excellent as restored. Nearly all of the expertly reapplied blue is retained throughout with a few mild handling marks. Stock likewise appears refreshed with only light impressions. Fine, bright bore with sharp rifling. Fine mechanics.
