This impressively small semi automatic pocket pistol was designed by Austrian watchmaker Franz Pfannl in 1910 and was produced until 1914. This example was proofed in 1913. Finished in full polished blue and chambered 2mm Kolibri with v-notch rear sight, open trigger, and 2-piece checkered hard rubber grips bearing "FP" monograms, and on the right panel, the "KOLIBRI" designation. This example is accompanied by an original jewelry box style French fit case covered in gilt decorated green satin, the lid liner marked "Kolibri". Complete with a diminutive cleaning brush and empty tin cartridge box. CONDITION: Good. Significant portions of original blue are retained, especially on the right side, the balance faded to a dove gray patina. Grips are excellent. Fine mechanics. Case showing some mild wear from storage and display, presenting very well overall. An extremely rare and desirable early 20th century curiosa.
