This imposing revolver features an octagon barrel integrally forged with a 6 - 3/8" bayonet blade and marked on the left flat "DUMONTHIER". Built on a Liege proofed and lightly engraved double action pinfire revolver frame with folding trigger and 2-piece smooth walnut grips. Gun is accompanied by what appears to be the original brass tipped leather belt loop sheath. CONDITION: Very good. Revolver displays an even gray patina with some cleaned oxidation spots. Grips have some light chipping along the base, scattered handling marks, and light finish loss, but otherwise remain very good. Heavily frosted bore with strong, well-defined rifling. Fine mechanics. Scabbard remains supple with evidence of use. A wonderful curiosa.
