Manufactured circa 1860 to 1865 bearing 1-line Moore's Patent address. Finished in silver plate with attractive factory floral and foliate scroll engraving over punch dot backgrounds, along with checkered panels. Barrel engraved on each side with characteristic arrow motifs. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Approximately 80% silver plate remains with some areas of thinning, flaking, and loss. Left side of the frame has some marring as well. Bore displays strong rifling with some cleaned black powder oxidation. Crisp mechanics. A nice example of the direct precursor to the Colt No. 1 derringer.
