Lot consists of: (A) US militia commission dated 1776 and addressed to Thomas Osborn Pentleman and appointing him as a second lieutenant in a Massachusetts militia regiment. The document displays various signatures, all of which are bold and legible. The text also remains legible. The document is framed without glass and measures approximately 17 - 1/2" x 14". Visible fold lines, some of which have turned into tears. CONDITION: Good. (B) Journal of the Votes and Proceedings as well of the Committee of Safety At a Sitting in January, 1776, As The Provincial Congress of New Jersey. Unbound, but appears complete with all pages. Edged wear exhibited throughout with cover pages missing pieces. Scattered soiling throughout. CONDITION: Fair.
