The tapered round British carbine-length barrel is stamped at the breech with four proofs, "SI", and "SG". The sideplate is identical to those found on British Pattern 1759 Elliot Light Dragoon pistols. Possibly American lock of 5 - 1/2" with no markings inside or outside the lockplate. Early trigger guard, probably from a 1756 carbine. Brass buttplate and ramrod ferrules. Cherry stock with distinctive comb, brass nosecap. Complete with its original iron ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a heavy brown patina. Lock retains a grey patina and is in its original flintlock configuration; functions well. Brass retains a dark patina. Stock untouched with an original finish, a couple hairline cracks.
