This fine and detailed period model measures 22" overall. The bronze tube measures about 16" overall and is profusely chased with relief acanthus leaf motifs, rings and has a decorated cascabel and breech. Breech shows a large crest with a trident, a "W" and an "Hb". Mounted on an original period wooden carriage with decorative iron mounts and rose head nails, most of the mounts terminate in flour-de-lis finials. Distance from wheel to wheel is 9 - 3/4". CONDITION: Tube retains a very dark green patina, chip missing from protrusion to right of touchhole, casting flaw at muzzle. Carriage shows scattered cracks and losses, some pins and nails missing on mounts and wheels, iron mounts retaining trunnions on top are later. A very early and attractive, large, firing cannon model.
