The rarest of the cataloged caliber Model 70 Featherweights, Rule notes only 2,000 were built in .358 Winchester. This example was manufactured in 1955. Fitted with a tapered blue "FEATHERWEIGHT" marked barrel with hooded blade front sight and correct 22K rear sight. Matte finished receiver drilled and taped for scope mounting. Hollow handle bolt marked on the underside with the full serial number in electropencil. Checkered walnut stock with sling swivels, aluminum bottom metal, and checkered aluminum butt plate. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel retains nearly all of its factory blue with some faint silvering around the muzzle and a few faint marks. Receiver likewise retains nearly all of its matte finish, some minor thinning present on the bolt handle. Bolt has a few areas of light brown patina. Bottom metal has some light edgewear but is also very nice. Stock has only a few minor handling marks. Excellent bore. Crisp mechanics. An outstanding example of a highly desirable Model 70.
