A very nice example of a Bailey, Banks, & Biddle Purple Heart. The BB&B Purple Heart is numbered on the lower left rim in the range of 1-60000, made of Bronze with Gold gilt, enamel heart, and split wrap brooch. This example is numbered "18854" and engraved to "THEODORE SALVATOS" on reverse. Salvatos served as a corporal with Headquarters Company, 9th Infantry Regiment. This example features a large "thumbnail" oak leaf cluster for wounds received on 7-18-1918 and 10-1-1918. The medal was awarded on 10-10-1932. Complete with original box that features the BB&B label. CONDITION: Good.
