Seldom seen Kaufmann Webley. Michael joined with Webley in 1878 and they filed for several patents during his tenure through 1881. This was the first large frame double action with a left side plate. The cylinder is grooved and the left side of the frame has the new legend "Webley Patent's". The right side of frame has the initials "MK" in a triangle. Other features include the octagon barrel, side lever release, integral trigger guard, bird head grip with lanyard ring, and full nickel finish. The top of the frame is stamped "THRESHER & GLENNEY 152 STRAND LONDON" for the well known tailors. The only numbers to be found are 946 on left side of grip frame and 591 on the back of cylinder. The release lever is patent. Grips are checkered walnut. CONDITION. Excellent. Overall, this revolver retains approximately 95% original nickel finish. As usual, there are scattered handling marks and light scratches to finish along with a few age spots and some flaking long edge of back strap at grip. The grips are excellent. All of the legends are bold. The action functions smoothly. The bore is strong and bright. Comes with a period blue web holster. This is one of the hardest to find of the early large frame Webley revolvers.
