The Bundesheer was formed in 1920 as the peoples Austrian Army. After the second world war, the Bundesheer were re-armed with arsenal rebuilt WWII Walther P-38 semi automatic double action pistols. Parts were mixed, guns refinished, frame serial numbers added to match the slides and then issued much like our Cavalry over haul of 1890. All bear the BH stamp on the left side of frame. This example bears a commercial HP slide with Walther banner. Frame has matching number on both sides mating to the slide. Grips are brown plastic. The right side of slide bears the German imperial proof stamp. Barrel is import stamped. Metal is arsenal reblued. No magazine. CONDITION. Fine as redone. Legends are sharp. Grips are excellent. Double action works correctly. Bore is bright.
