The Bundesheer was formed in 1920 as the peoples Austrian Army. After the second world war, the Bundesheer were re-armed with arsenal rebuilt WWII Walther P-38 semi automatic double action pistols. Parts were mixed, guns refinished, frame serial numbers added to match the slides and then issued much like our Cavalry over haul of 1890. All bear the BH stamp, this late example is stamped on the left side of slide. Pistol has the Walther banner commercial stamp on left side of slide. The right side has the 1/67 stamp for 1967. The arsenal re-stamped the frame with matching number on left side of frame. Grips are black plastic and the barrel is import stamped. Metal is arsenal reblued. Comes with one magazine. CONDITION. Excellent as redone showing minor light holster, high edge and muzzle wear. Legends are sharp. Grips are excellent. Double action works correctly. Bore is bright.
