These swords were made immediately post-war as souveniers for GIs to take home. They were made at Tenzoshan as part of a contract for 8,000 swords, sold through the Postal Exchange. 59.9cm nagasa (approximately 23 - 1/2") of classic shinogi zukuri form with straight temper line. Nakago has a small anchor stamp adjacent to mekugi-ana, with kiri jiri and shu-mei. Typical Tenzoshan mounts and black lacquer saya. Seppa numbered 98. CONDITION: Blade with some handling marks, surface scratches, and mossing, heavier towards towards boshi. Some dents and micro chips to cutting edge. Mounts with some rubs and handling marks, some to bare wood, and a crack along belly near koiguchi.
