These fine pistols feature Damascus barrels with engraved patent breeches, rear iron tang sights and German silver front blade sights. Tops with gold inlaid "G. Kreisser a' Liepzig." Profusely engraved lock plates with engraved dolphin-form hammers. Center of one pistol marked "Kreisser" in the center in an oval and the other marked "Liepzig" en suite. Finely engraved German silver furniture in the French Empire taste. Shaped carved and checkered panels on both sides of wrists are decorated with silver tacks. Highly figured Circassian walnut stocks carved in relief above pommel caps and around barrel tangs. Shaped and engraved silver wrist escutcheons with vacant oval cartouches. CONDITION: Very good overall. Barrels retain a grey patina with traces of case colors on patent breeches. Locks retain a grey patina with some light scattered freckling, one does not hold on half-cock. Mounts retain a pleasing unpolished patina. Stocks retain their original finish and one has a crack between bottom of lockplate and trigger floor plate. Otherwise showing minor scattered storage marks. A very nice small pair of pistols.
