Lot consists of 3 Philippine Constabulary Type 1 belts. Among the first known Philippine Constabulary orders through Hartley & Graham in New York was 5,000 Remington 12 Ga, single-shot shotguns and included a contract for 5,000 leather cartridge belts with 2-piece brass buckles. Although Type 1 belts were issued configured for 12 gauge shotgun shells, arsenals in the Philippines often reconfigured accouterments, and many were converted for rifle and pistol cartridges. (A) Reconfigured to accommodate rifle and pistol cartridges. Remains supple with sturdy rifle cartridge loops that were affixed with thick thread. Original holes visible on reverse. Buckle with light patina. CONDITION: Good. (B) Type 1 belt reconfigured in order to accommodate rifle and pistol cartridges. Half of the belt features longer loops for rifle cartridges and the other half features shorter loops for pistol cartridges. Belt remains supple with sturdy cartridge loops that were affixed with thick thread. Original holes visible on reverse. Light patina to buckle. CONDITION: Good. (C) Type 1 belt reconfigured in order to accommodate rifle and pistol cartridges. Belt remains supple with sturdy cartridge loops that were affixed with thick thread.
