Lot consists of 3 Philippine Constabulary Type 1 belts. Among the first known Philippine Constabulary orders through Hartley & Graham in New York was 5,000 Remington 12 Ga, single-shot shotguns and included a contract for 5,000 leather cartridge belts with 2-piece brass buckles. Although Type 1 belts were issued configured for 12 gauge shotgun shells, arsenals in the Philippines often reconfigured accouterments, and many were converted for rifle and pistol cartridges. (A) Standard original issue configuration for 12 Ga shotgun shells. Remains supple with several cartridge loops missing pieces. Buckle with patina and 1 dark spot. CONDITION: Good. (B) Type 1 belt reconfigured in order to accommodate rifle and pistol cartridges. The loops can accomidate .30-40 Krag and .45-70 comfortably. Belt remains supple with sturdy rifle cartridge loops that were affixed with thick thread. Original holes visible on reverse. Nice patina to buckle. CONDITION: Good. (C) Type 1 belt reconfigured in order to accommodate .30-40 Krag rifle rounds. Belt remains supple with sturdy rifle cartridge loops that were affixed with thick thread.
