Lot consists of: (A) M1902 Philippine Constabulary Officer's sword. These swords are very scarce variatons of the standard US Model 1902 Army Officer sword. They have some distinctive differences from the standard sword, however, and were only worn by the Philippine Constabulary. The hilt is identical to the standard M1902, except it has a different backstrap with a ball pommel and a thumb rest near the guard with wire wrapped grips instead of the standard black grips of the US M1902. The blade is triple etched with foliate and patriotic motifs, the obverse side exhibits the "PC" in wreath. No maker mark. Complete with its original scabbard with "PC" in wreath on obverse side. Blade remains somewhat bright with a muted gray patina. Hilt and scabbard exhibit oxidation to the finish. CONDITION: Very good. (B) Type 3 Philippine Constabulary sword belt. The third type is scarce and is only known as a sword belt in leather. Few belts and buckles are known to exist. The belt remains supple with both sword hangers attached. Scattered crazing and scuffs. Buckle exhibits a moderate patina. A very nice example of a rare belt which is almost never encountered on the collector market. CONDITION: Very good.
