This truly outstanding riot gun was manufactured in November 1943 per the barrel date code as part of the first World War II military contract, which falls in the 455,000 to 500,000 range. It is finished in full brushed "MILITARY FINISH" as marked on the receiver. Correct cylinder choked 20" riot gun barrel with single bead front sight. "U.S." and flaming bomb proofs present over the breech and on the left side of the receiver. Heavy flat sided military style oil finished walnut forend. The walnut stock is stamped with a crisp crossed cannons proof and "FJA" inspection. Serrated mottled brown composition Remington butt plate. Shotgun is accompanied by its original matching 2-piece box with instruction manual and original wrapping material. CONDITION: Excellent, as new and unissued with only a few light handling marks. Mirror bore. Fine mechanics. Box is very good and clean with some mild edgewear from storage. A fantastic World War II time capsule riot gun for the discerning collector.
