Circa 1967 per serial number; silver nitrate test is negative for salt. Classic 24" magnum tapered barrel with Browning legends and 2" triangles of scroll at shank. Action with classic scenes of a bull elk bugling on right side of fore ring (scene signed by Baerten), a moose on left side of ring, unsigned, and supporting floral scroll. Bottom metal with bear scene signed by Cargnel, and a mountain lion on trigger guard, signed "LA" (Campo?). Nicely flame grained walnut stock with wave pattern checkering at forearm and wrist with incise carved floral scroll and stippled borders, pistol grip, contrasting forearm and pistol grip caps, Monte Carlo comb, sling studs at toe line and forearm, dual reinforcement bolts, and Browning branded soft brown recoil pad. Action drilled and tapped for scope mounts, with filler screws. CONDITION: Barrel with the vast majority of the blued finish with some minor handling marks. Reciever with some oil staining and handling marks, with some fine oxidation about bolt release. Wood is good with some handling marks and crazing, mostly about reinforcement bolts, with a repaired break at wrist. Some lacquer lifting and chipping at cheekpiece. Reinforcement bolts with oxidation. Mechanically fine, bore is good with strong rifling and moderate frosting throughout.
