This is one of the Paso Robles guns from when Rigby was building rifles in California. Tapered tapered with "John Rigby & Co / Paso Robles" engraved at midpoint. Made without sights, but drilled at tapped at receiver for rings, lightly engraved with floral scroll, three position safety. Walnut stock with heavy fiddlebacking, contrasting darkwood forearm cap, sling swivel studs at forearm and toe line, point pattern checkering at forearm and pistol grip (with cap and trap), brass plaque on toeline engraved with a gothic "DR", pancake cheekpiece, and a combination horn and soft rubber buttplate. Bottom metal and trigger guard engraved with open scroll en suite. CONDITION: Very good, retaining virtually all of the factory blue, plumbing somewhat, with some scattered patches of surface oxidation ahead of Rigby engraving on barrel and some at bottom metal/trigger guard junction, with other typical scattered handling marks and superficial marks. Stock excellent with some handling marks, most offensive a strike on right side of comb. Mechanically fine, bore with strong well defined rifling and some light oxidation towards muzzle.
