Circa 1968 per serial number; silver nitrate test is negative for salt. Classic 24" magnum tapered barrel with Browning legends and 2" triangles of scroll at shank. Action with classic scenes of a bull elk bugling on right side of fore ring (scene signed by Marechal), a moose on left side of ring, unsigned, and supporting floral scroll. Bottom metal with bear scene signed by Campo, and a mountain lion on trigger guard, also unsigned. Fiddleback walnut stock with wave pattern checkering at forearm and wrist with incise carved floral scroll and stippled borders, pistol grip, contrasting forearm and pistol grip caps, Monte Carlo comb, sling studs at toe line and forearm, dual reinforcement bolts, and Browning branded soft brown recoil pad. Currently mounted with a Redfield 2-7 power scope with 1" tube. CONDITION: Barrel with the vast majority of the blued finish with areas of inactive oxidation across approximately 11" ahead of the receiver. Reciever with pitting, mostly confined to scroll opposite ejection port and right right rear, but scattered. Wood is dry, screw escutcheon and screw for boss under chamber is missing, reinforcement bolts with oxidation. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with strong rifling and some mild frosting. Scope a little hazy and sepia toned, but throws smoothly.
