Lot consists of: (A&B) Hagner Type No. 2 Model 1872 Cartridge Box, Indian War issue for .50-70 cartridges. There are 24 interior canvas loops for cartridges in 3 rows of 8 loops. Standard arsenal installed brass rivets and finial. Flaps are constructed of 1 piece of leather with embossed “US”. Stamped "No 2" just above the belt loops. Both exhibit some minor cracking to the finish with some scuffs. Leather remains strong with pliable flaps. CONDITION: Good. (C&D) 2 rare, detachable "Hazen Loop" cartridge carriers are made of black leather and have 20 loops for .45 caliber rifle or carbine cartridges. The backs of the center loops are stamped, "U.S. / ARSENAL / BENECIA". Some light cracking and loss at edges, but both remain supple. CONDITION: Good. (E) Pattern 1875 cartridge box for .45 Colt or S&W cartridges, produced by altering Civil War cap pouches. The pouch had most of the inner flap and fleece lining removed. Outer flap with embossed "US". Light cracking with 1 large scuff above embossed US. Remains pliable with no breaks. CONDITION: Good.
