Circa 1880 to 1895. Turned and carved whale pan bone with a sailing ship scrimmed on one side and woman on the other. This depiction is symbolic of the sailor's return home to this beloved wife. Very little wear is evident anywhere on the clothespin since it was never intended for use. Expertly scrimmed by a sailor of the highest skill level.
Condition: (Near Mint).
