This is a very patriotic tooth with excellent quality scrimshaw overall. The American Eagle holding the banner reading "Live and let live" is a very popular theme seen in maritime art from the late 18th century through the 19th century. George Washington, the father of this country, makes this tooth especially attractive to collectors of Americana. The tooth itself dates to the late 19th century, possibly the early 20th century.

Condition: (Near Mint).

Item Dimensions: 4 - 3/4" L.
