After the signing of the Versailles Peace Treaty of 1919, the German police were allowed to keep a limited amount of weapons for their security use. They were stamped with the year, 1920, on the chamber, refinished, and reissued. This is such an example of an early pre-War 1913 stamped with the Erfurt crown on the toggle. All visible numbers match. The wood base blue magazine is not numbered. The checkered walnut right grip panel appears to be stamped 50, not 56. Refinished in standard blue with straw color small parts. right side of frame has four German proof marks. Comes with a 1934 dated holster made by "ROBERT LARSON BERLIN". CONDITION: Excellent as arsenal refinished. Retains majority of finish with light muzzle wear, some high holster wear and handling. The straps show very little finish having turned patina with age freckling. Straw colors have faded. Bore is bright.
