Circa 1880 to 1900. With the exception of Scrimshaw whale's teeth the most common sailor made items were house hold items. One rarely sees a rolling pin of this quality. Turned from pan bone from the jaw of a sperm whale, it is stunning. Small in size but expertly crafted with delicate scrim on the handles of whales, whalers, and flowers. Shows some wear with a small amount of ink loss around the center of the pin.

Condition: (Near Mint).

Item Dimensions: 10 - 1/4" L.
SCRIMSHAW ROLLING PIN.
