65.2cm nagasa of classic shinogi zukuri form, hada obscured due to state of polish, but hamon is a midare with sunagashi and nie throughout. Nakago with kengyo nakagojiri, and katanamei signed for Mikawa Fujiwara Takenori, dated on ura (Showa 26? difficult to read). Classic type 98 mounts with textured army brown paint and gilt furniture, with best coverage retained in protected areas of tsuba. Blue-and-brown company grade tassel. Born Hashimoto Takehei in 1911, he studied under Nakano Kazunori and was a rikugun jumei tosho during the war. CONDITION: Very good, sword has surface level scratches, some mild pinprick oxidation, heavier at boshi, and some ware towards the ha. Mounts are very good with some rubs, but complete and attractive.
