61.6cm nagasa (approximately 24 - 1/4") of classic shinogi zukuri form with a straight oil tempered temper line. Nakago with ha agari jiri, single mekugi-ana, and kesho yasurime. Signed in three characters, with a further mark towards the top of the yasurime that looks like an ankh. Classic Naval mounts with a painted sa-me saya, black sa-me, and whitemetal mounts, with matching numbers on fuchi, seppa, and tsuba. Brass habaki with incised design of falling ran. CONDITION: Blade with some superficial scratches throughout, heavier towards tip, with evidence of an amateur polish that has softened yokote. Mounts are good with handling marks, some softening to designs, and rubs through to base metal. Saya good with some handling marks and scrapes to wood. A good example of the classic naval katana.
