66.5cm (approximately 26 - 1/8") of classic shinogi zukuri form, with a straight temper line. Nakago with Toyokawa Naval Arsenal stamp, "115" assembly number, and higaki yasurime. Tsuba, seppa, and fuchi all with matching "115", matching blade. 1937 Naval Kai Gunto mounts with evidence of gilding on mounts and textured saya. With a heavily faded brown and (now) mauve tassel and black sa-me. CONDITION: Blade is clean but out of traditional polish with some handling marks and surface scratches throughout, including evidence of an attempt at polishing at boshi and cutting edge. Mounts are very good with some heavy rubs, most gilding in recesses, but present and fit well. Naval swords are notably rarer than army swords.
