Built in New York City and patented in 1856, with the majority sold to the US Government. The only legends are found on both sides of the lower frame. Matching serial numbers found on the barrel, cylinder, and on the frame, under the hammer. The one piece walnut grips have a government inspector cartouche on both sides that are visible but not legible as they have been revarnished. Revolver functions as double action only. Standard full blue finish. CONDITION: Very good. The frame retains flashes of original blue but are mostly patina. Balance of metal on this revolver was reblued to a matte finish at one time. The action works fine and indexes correctly. The bore is strong and bright with minor residue.
