An important pistol historically for Colt collectors as this was the first big bore derringer. This patent was then purchased by the National Arms Company and in 1870, by Colt. This is the later standard model with Moores Pat. F.A. Co Brooklyn barrel address. (very difficult to read under thick silver plating. The brass frame single shot derringer is engraved and has a Dogs head on frame breech. CONDITION. Excellent. Fine working order. Bore is defined with some pitting. Overall, about 95% toning silver with brass bleeding through is spots.
