The full length rifled octagon barrel has a brass front blade sight and notched iron rear sight. Top flat inscribed "S + B" for Samuel Baum. The replaced lockplate has a rounded tail and single-line engraved borders. Brass furniture including a four-piece patchbox with four piercings. Two brass sideplate escutcheons. There are 17 silver inlays. Relief carved c-scrolls behind cheekpiece on left side of buttstock. Complete with an old wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown patina. Lock is probably a replacement and functions correctly, retains a light grey patina. Brass retains a pleasing light mustard patina. Silver retains a pewter patina. Stock shows scattered marks from use, a couple minor pieces replaced around lock.

CORRECTION: Rifle is signed "J + P" for John Parks, rather than Samuel Baum as was attributed.
