Circa 1920. A London made vintage game gun with nitro proofed dovetail 32” blacked steel barrels. Barrels fit with 3" chambers, extractor, wide, tapering fine filed flat top rib and for side clips. Rib with third fastener lock up and round front bead sight. Right barrel reads “W.J. JEFFERY & CO. LD.”. Left barrel reads “26 BURY ST. ST. JAMES. LONDON.”. Bottom of barrel stamped with serial number and with proofs. Bottom rib stamped “2487”. Barrel flats marked “NITRO PROOF”, "12-1", "12LC" in diamond, "1 1/2", "CHOKE", and with proofs. Chokes are Full and Cylinder. Coin finished boxlock action with sideclips and third fastener is handsomely engraved with scrolls and “W.J. JEFFERY & CO LD”, ”LONDON”. Bottom action is scroll engraved and blacked. Action is built with double triggers, blacked scroll engraved/checkered top lever, and with a checkered safe slide. “SAFE” is in gold and gun is auto-safe. Black scroll engraved trigger guard extends to a 3/4 length bottom strap. Dark straight grain stock with a round knob smooth checkered grip has an engraved silver oval. Oval engraved “PAG”. Stock is finished by a 1 – 1/4" leather covered pad. Matching splinter forend with Anson push button release and scroll engraved escutcheon. Exterior iron metal is scroll engraved. Interior is color case hardened. Gun lives in a brick colored canvas case with leather trim. Interior case lid with “W.J. JEFFERY & CO LD.” Paper trade label and vacant charge card. Case with cleaning tools, cartridge extractor, turnscrews, hand guard, barrel plug, and oil bottle(s). Accompanied by a copy of "The Double Rifle Primer" by Cal Pappas. CONDITON: Very good. Barrels are excellent with light handling marks. Action is sound. Stock and forend both very good with handling marks. Case very good with evidence of use and storage.
