Originally acquired by prop man Neil McLeod in 1988, this carbine saw numerous television and movie appearances until it was transferred back into his personal collection and later sold. A signed letter from McLeod on Old West Hardware letterhead listing the carbine by serial number details its story as part of Six Angels Production inventory. From 1988 to 1991, it was carried by Richard Comar, playing the lead Deputy Marshall Jack Craddock in "Bordertown". In 1992, the carbine and included scabbard were then provided for use in Clint Eastwood's award winning "Unforgiven". Additionally between 1991 and 2000 it was used in "Call of the Wild", "Crossfire", "Dead Man's Gun", "Jennifer Eight", "Koontai Brown", "Legends of the Fall", "Lonesome Dove: The Series", "Shanghai Noon", "The Virginian", and "We're No Angels." The early production carbine is fitted with a standard 20" barrel with barrel band blade front sight and small ladder rear. Iconic brass frame with saddle ring. Plain walnut carbine forend and straight grip stock with brass carbine butt plate. Carbine is accompanied by the aforementioned leather saddle scabbard marked on the inside with a "SXA" Six Angels property stamp. CONDITION: Good, with an aged appearance perfect for any classic Western picture. Barrel blue has faded somewhat to plum with some expected wear. Magazine tube paint shows light flaking. Receiver exhibits a golden mellow patina. Stocks are very good with some scattered impressions. Strong bright bore with some frosting in the grooves. Smooth mechanics. Scabbard shows wear but remains supple and sturdy. A classic Western style carbine with impeccable silver screen provenance.
