Per included Cody Records Office factory research, this serial number was applied to this rifle December 9, 1891 and it shipped from the warehouse January 25, 1892. Rifle is fitted with a combination front sight, and, as is noted in the factory records, a 7 leaf rear sight. Once platinum lined, the sight features 6 flip up sight leaves graduated from 100 to 600 yards followed by a fold up ladder sight. Rifle is otherwise standard with full length magazine tube, sliding dust cover, 2-piece walnut stocks, and tool trap crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Good. Rifle has a gray patina with freckling and nicks. Sight leaves show significant cleaned oxidation spots. Forend has areas of finish loss, the butt stock sanded with a small chip present at the wrist. Strong bore with some black powder abrasion. Fine mechanics.
