According to included Cody factory research, this rifle shipped from the Winchester warehouse on July 27, 1886. Blued extra length 28" octagon barrel with combination front sight, sporting rear missing the elevator, and a tang mounted Vernier aperture sight. As is documented with "full nickel receiver" and "nickel trim". A large period "WHI" monogram has been added on the right side of the receiver. Factory single set trigger. Classic 2-piece walnut stocks with nickel plated nose cap and tool trap crescent rifle butt plate. Factory research confirms configuration, excluding monogram and sights which are not listed. CONDITION: Very good overall. Barrel has largely drifted to a plum brown patina with some edgewear and vice marks at the breech. Receiver and lever retain significant portions or factory nickel with large areas flaking to brown patina. Trim likewise retains strong traces of nickel. Stock have nicks and dings throughout with a few larger bruises. Bore is strong with some black powder abrasion. Fine mechanics including set trigger. A interesting special order '73.
