Manufactured in late 1884. Standard proofed blued barrel with bayonet lug front sight and "R" marked rear. Case hardened action with "US / MODEL / 1873" low arch breech block and 3-click tumbler. Full length walnut stock stamped on the left with "SWP / 1884" cartouche and mounted with 2 barrel bands, 2-piece trigger guard, and "US" butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains portions of arsenal blue fading to plum patina. Receiver has traces of case color patterning, largely faded to gray. Age darkened stock with expected dings and abrasions but no major sign of distress. Fine, bright bore with crisp rifling. Fine mechanics. A good, honest trapdoor.
