Classic Queen Anne form with a three stage turned barrel with wedding rings at the girdles and a turned cannon muzzle. Breech with octagonal faceted design, which rotates once with smaller facets, engraved with wriggle work and light incised starbursts. Signed "LONDON" across top facet, and "JAMES FREEMAN" under the pan. Bridled pan with integral fence and gooseneck cock. Trigger guard with incised starburst design. Darkly colored stock with three pierced silver inlays, a silver wrist plaque, and a silver grotesque mask buttcap. CONDITION: Metal has been cleaned in the European fashion with some fine areas of pitting visible and engraving softened, but still legible. Silver has tarnished to a mellow color. Stock is somewhat dry with numerous cracks and splice repairs throughout. Mechanically fine, bore with some areas of pitting ahead of the chamber, unscrews and attaches freely.
