Excellent, unissued example of a World War II H. Boker & Co. M3 fighting knife in its original packaging. The knife features a parkerized carbon steel 6 - 3/4" spearpoint blade with a 3 - 1/2" secondary blade. The blade is followed by a blued steel crossguard with an angular bend at 1 end in order to facilitate a thumb rest. The crossguard is marked "U.S. M3 BOKER". The handle features a polished, lacquered, and grooved leather grip and is topped with a blued pommel cap that is properly ordnance marked. The knife is complete with a nice M8 scabbard. The knife remains contained in its original cardboard box with wrapped components. There is a paper wrap dated 1957 contained in the box. CONDITION: The blade retains most of its original finish and exhibits light blemishes from storage. The guard and pommel retain nearly all of their finish. The grooved leather handle remains tight. Scabbard retains its original wrap and leather cord. Box exhibits expected wear from storage. but remains sturdy. H. Boker & Co. only manufactured approximately 31,300 M3 knives during the war and this is a very nice, complete example of a desirable World War II fighting knife still in its original packaging.
