Manufactured 1879. This is a late production standard model rifle with full round barrel, full magazine, brass frame, late steel butt plate with trap door, semi buckhorn rear sight, German silver tip front sight, walnut stocks. There are matching assembly numbers 1487 on inside left lower tang and inside the stock channel. The is also a number 676 next to 1487 number inside tang. Serial number is on base of lower tang. Standard two line Winchester legend on top of barrel. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel is basically gun metal grey with sharp legends having been cleaned at one time. The butt plate has also been cleaned. The tube is a homogenous soft blue and patina with some age freckling. The frame was cleaned at one time and is starting to tone. The wood is excellent as refinished and is slightly shy to metal. The hammer and lever colors have darkened. Action works fine. Bore is well defined but has some abrasions.
