Manufactured 1942. This is a fine example of a post-WWII Ogden Arsenal rebuild, very common for this model as these were still being used in Viet Nam. The fluted walnut stock has a bold OG stamp on the left side. The Winchester plastic butt plate is post-WWII. The ventilated handguard is the six row style. Barrel is flush with end of guard. Proper style swivels with post-War sling. The right side of frame has correct U.S. stamp with Ordnance bomb. The top of barrel and receiver have the PW stamp. The Ordnance bomb on top of barrel is barely visible as this gun has been post-War parkerized. The left side of barrel has the Winchester Model 12 legend with "2 3/4 CHAM" and "CYL". This is the correct takedown version. Complete with a 1918-dated and flaming bomb-proofed Remington bayonet with green leather scabbard. CONDITION: Fine as reworked and refinished for post-WWII use. This reapplied finish shows only minor handling wear. The grooved round forearm and stock are excellent with few light impressions. The bore is bright and gun functions correctly. A very historical weapon in that it was used in WWII and into Vietnam. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
