The Kongsberg 1914 is essentially a very close clone of the Colt 1911, with its most distinct difference the extended and dropped slide release. Only approximately 500 of these guns were produced in 1932, making this one fairly scarce. Classic configuration, with full or matching serial numbers observed on slide, frame, slide release, thumb safety, trigger, grip safety, mainspring housing, hammer, barrel, and magazine release. Accompanied by a previous auction description of this gun. CONDITION: Good as refinished, with white infill used to enhance visibility of legends. Sharp edges softened, and legends softened even with the infill. Some handling marks and areas of fine pitting visible, with associated scattered marks from handling and storage. Metal retains virtually all of the reapplied blue finish, with some thinning to sharp edges. Mechanically fine, bore is dark with soft visible rifling and frosting throughout.
