Manufactured 1937. The Model 65 was introduced in 1933 but the .218 Bee, which was designed for varmint hunting, was brought out by Winchester in 1937. This deluxe features a checkered pistol grip walnut stock, no grip cap, fluted comb, checkered steel buttplate, swivels, and matching forearm. Finish is factory blue with a ramp front sight, filled rear barrel slot, and mounted with a pre-War Weaver Model 330 scope. Factory button magazine. The left side barrel legends are crisp. It is unfortunate that a scope was mounted to the left side of the frame but it was definitely done at the time, otherwise, this gun is in fantastic condition. CONDITION: Excellent. Receiver retains at least 95% bright blue with light high edge wear and a few handling marks. Likewise, the barrel shows some minor muzzle wear and handling marks. The stocks are proud to metal, sharp checkering with just usual minor abrasions. Bore is bright. A fantastic first year Bee. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
