Manufactured in 1893. This is a standard musket with a bayonet. It sports the military style rear ladder sight, post front sight, three barrel bands, two swivels, walnut stock with trap door carbine type butt plate and one piece, 28 1/4" matching forearm. Finish is blue with case color lever and hammer. CONDITION: Fine. The receiver retains approximately 70% of the bright factory blue blending with smooth patina and scattered handling marks. The barrel and bands are a homogenous blue patina blend with sharp Winchester barrel legend. The dust cover is grey with strong blue on gate. The stock is proud to metal with overall scattered dings and some added finish. The forearm is in matching condition. The bore is well defined with abrasions. The action works fine. The bayonet is not marked. These muskets have an interesting history having been used by militias. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
