Manufactured 1937. Referred to as a carbine due to the 20" barrel, it is actually a short rifle with the long tang, blue finish, half magazine, hooded ramp front sight, filled rear slot, scarce bolt peep sight, blue finish, and checkered pistol grip walnut stock with Winchester grip cap, checkered steel shotgun butt plate, swivels, and a matching forearm. CONDITION: Excellent. The receiver retains 75% blue which shows scattered freckling, a bit of finish flaking, mostly from carry, and some thinning. The barrel and tube retain 95% blue with light handling, some muzzle wear and light thinning. The left side Winchester barrel legend is strong. The stock is excellent, proud to metal, sharp checkering showing minor dings and impressions. The forearm shows a bit of finish loss at frame. Action is smooth. Bore is bright. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
