It is estimated that less than 1000 of these were made between 1866-1879. This is the iron mounted .36 caliber version with the full octagon barrel, extra length loading lever, percussion, scroll type iron trigger guard with spur, walnut stock with rifle butt plate. Top of barrel has the correct Remington legend. Matching serial number on frame and barrel. CONDITION: Good. No original finish, now a deep dark salt and pepper texture patina. Stock is solid with scattered dings and impressions. Action is fully functional . Barrel has been shortened to 22 1/2". The rear sight is a replacement. The rifling is well defined.
