This model was only made for two years in 1865-1866. This is one of those that was fitted for the Stabler cut off. The receiver breech is stamped with Spencer legend while the barrel breech is stamped "M1865". Standard features include the round barrel, post front sight, correct folding ladder rear sight, single barrel band, saddle ring and bar, and walnut stock with steel buttplate and loading tube, rear swivel, and matching forearm. CONDITION: Very good. There are no visible case colors which are now a dull grey. The barrel is grey patina as well. The stock is solid and fits well but does have various dings, darker oil spots, etc. consistent with lack of metal finish and use. The action works fine. The barrel shows strong pronounced rifling with some abrasions. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
