Manufactured 1943. This is an extremely fine original blued Model 12 WWII trench gun. The unmarked blue four row vented handguard is correctly flush with end of barrel. The shotgun is a standard takedown. Right side of frame is stamped U.S. with Ordnance bomb. Top barrel breech is stamped with Ordnance bomb and PW proof, as is receiver. The left side of barrel has correct Winchester Model 12 Cyl choke legend. The left side of the plain pistol grip fluted walnut stock is stamped G.H.D. with Ordnance wheel. Buttplate is standard Winchester black plastic. Swivels are correct. CONDITION: Bore is bright and action is crisp. The stock is excellent with usual scattered impressions. The grooved round forearm is excellent. The frame retains at least 95% bright factory blue with some patina on edges along with minor handling. Even the take down ring retains majority of blue. The tube is blue with patina bleeding through. The heat shield retains most of its blue with high edge wear. Even the tube retains majority of matte finish. A superb example. Comes with a Winchester US 1917 dated bayonet and metal scabbard.
