Rare and desirable cased Borchardt C-93 pistol, with only about 3000 of these manufactured between Loewe and DWM. The design was developed by Hugo Borchardt, an American, who followed the same principle as the toggle lock system of the Maxim machine gun. This is an all matching numbers gun in an original leather bound case with nickel fittings. The gun comes with an original numbered stock, cheek piece, holster, sling, cleaning kit, tools, oil bottle, and 3 extra magazines. It is BUG proofed on the left side of the barrel, BU proofed on the left side of the chamber, and marked "WAFFENFABRIK / LOEWE / BERLIN" on top of the chamber; "D.R.P. / No.75837" on the toggle. "SYSTEM BORCHARDT. PATENT." on the right side of the receiver. This gun would be the centerpiece of most collections. CONDITION: This gun is in spectacular condition and retains the vast majority of the lustrous blue finish with nitre blue small parts. 2-piece checkered wood grip panels. The checkering is sharp and crisp with an uncheckered border. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Original stock shows a few handling marks and dings. The holster shows leather checking, and the stitching is tight and serviceable. The exterior of the original case shows storage marks and has a crack across the top. The green interior shows wear. The case has protected this gun for the last 125 years for it to be in this condition.
